Two incredible neuroscientists recieve New Years honours

Dr Makarena Dudley

Dr Makarena Dudley (Te Rarawa and Ngāti Kahu) is now a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to people with dementia, particularly Māori.
Makarena is a clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist and academic, specialising in neuropsychology, dementia and Māori health psychology research.

Prof Louise Parr-Brownlie

Prof Louise Parr-Brownlie (Ngāti Maniapoto and Te Arawa) received a New Year 2025 honour for services to neuroscience. She is now a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.

She contributes in so many ways to benefit brain health, including with her Parkinson's research, support of ECRs and her role as Science Advisor to MBIE.
