Your Brain Health

At the Aotearoa Brain Project, we are interested in the ageing brain and the changes – normal or otherwise – that occur as we grow older. As you age, you may experience noticeable changes in your memory and thinking patterns, but not all changes are a sign of concern. Lapses in memory can happen to anyone – it’s knowing when there is cause for concern that’s important.

Scientists in Aotearoa are actively investigating the mechanisms and progression of a number of ageing-related neurological disorders that affect countless New Zealanders every year. Read on to learn more about some of the diseases that are being researched.
